3 Reasons to take Engagement Photos even though you’re Eloping

Just because you’re eloping doesn’t mean you should skip engagement photos. Booking an engagement session is a great way to celebrate the time in your life when you get to call each other “fiancé”. Engagement photos can be completely casual or as formal as you’d like. It’s up to you! Here are a few reasons you should take engagement photos even if you’re eloping:

1 – Engagement Photos help you Capture Life While Engaged

Being engaged is exciting! This is a unique time in your life filled with the excitement of planning your elopement or small wedding. You’ll likely look back on photos from this time of life and think about all of the fun memories you created together. If you’re traveling for your elopement, having an engagement session is the perfect way to capture life closer to home.

2 – To Have Photographs of you Adventuring Together

Why not take an adventure for your photos? Bring your photographer along on something you love to do together that might not be possible to achieve on your elopement day. Maybe you really want to elope in the summer time but want to have photos of the two of you skiing together. Or you might enjoy water sports but want to get married in the mountains. Engagement photos are the perfect way to remember those fun adventures together.

3 – To Use for Announcements and Decor

Engagement photos are perfect to use for elopement announcements, invitations for a reception or intimate wedding gathering, on a website, or in a guestbook. They are of course also great for printing and will look great printed alongside your elopement photos in your home.

Having an engagement session done can be a ton of fun. They also help you get warmed up in front of the camera, which can ease those nerves when it comes down to taking photos on your wedding day. If you’re using the same photographer for your elopement, you’ll have the chance to get to know your photographer better.
