Andrew and Marlena were married in the backyard where Marlena grew up in Bellevue. Their vision was an intimate gathering of friends and family, all celebrating their love in a special place. While they loved their simple wedding, they dreamed of taking wedding photos up in the San Juan Islands, particularly Orcas Island. They visit the island often and it holds a special place in their hearts. So we did just that! A few days after their backyard wedding, Andrew and Marlena and I took off on a ferry up to Orcas Island. They got back into their wedding attire and we spent the entire afternoon and into the evening doing Orcas Island wedding photos all around the island. The skies were a bit smoky due to the wildfires, but I love how it added warmth to the sky. Due to the ferry schedule, we had quite a bit of time to hang out in the evening. We grabbed some food then headed to the north end of the island for twilight. The beach was so quiet, almost eerie, and we took some incredible shots on the beach and played around with flash in the dark. I think that a post-wedding session is such a fun way to take wedding photos wherever your hearts desire! I had a great time with these two and wish them many years of happiness together!
