Nick and Karen love living in Seattle. They reside in a cute little apartment on Queen Anne and love strolling around their neighborhood together. It was only fitting that they got married in the city that they love, close to home, with friends and family surrounding them. They chose MV Skansonia as their venue. The wedding venue is an old ferry boat that has been turning into a gorgeous place to get married overlooking the Seattle skyline on Lake Union.
Their MV Skansonia wedding took place on a sunny fall afternoon. We began the day with the girls getting ready together on the Seattle waterfront. Nick and his friends got ready at their apartment on Queen Anne. They met for a first look right on the waterfront, overlooking the Seattle skyline. We then piled everyone in a limo to take photos around the city.
There’s something about the light in the fall. Everything is a little more golden, a little more crisp. I loved the contrast of the bridesmaids’ black gowns and fuschia wedding bouquets contrasting with the autumn light.
The ceremony took place right on the bow of the MV Skansonia, shortly followed by cocktail hour and dinner. Guests loved being able to hang out outside on the boat, enjoying the scenery as the sun set on the Seattle skyline. Nick and Karen threw quite the party, with everyone dancing late into the night. It was incredible day and David and I were so honored to be a part of it! Congrats Nick and Karen, we wish you many years of happiness and many tasty cocktails as husband and wife.
