John and Haley met while teaching at the same school. They were born and raised in Louisiana, yet have a passion for exploring and visiting the mountains. Their Jackson Hole wedding was the perfect way to proclaim their love together in a location that is super special to them. They chose to have a small wedding at Grand Targhee Resort. Having a smaller wedding allowed a lot more time to focus on each other on their wedding day and truly soak in the emotions and scenery surrounding them.
They started out with a first look among the aspen trees. After that we rode the chairlift to the top of the mountain. It was amazing how much snow was leftover from winter! The contrast of summer and wildflowers at the base of the mountains and a snowy wonderland at the top was incredible.
One funny story from their day – as I was getting ready to head over to John’s room for photos of him getting ready, he sent me a text saying that he had gotten into a mountain bike wreck that morning and was getting first aid. What??! Well Grand Targhee has an incredible system of mountain bike trails and John’s adventurous spirit decided to take a ride that morning. Turns out he went over a jump and flipped over the handlebars (it happens to the best of us John!). Luckily he ended up with only surface scrapes on his back but it sure leaves us with a good story to tell!
