Matt and Devan were super fun for me to work with from the start. They met while growing up ski racing together at Crystal Mountain. Naturally they wanted their engagement photos while skiing so I got to know them a little more that day and had a great time hiking around the mountain with them! They wanted their wedding to be a casual fun gathering of friends and family in a beautiful setting. They landed on Sun Mountain Lodge as their wedding venue. Sun Mountain Lodge is perched atop a butte in the Methow Valley, overlooking the peaks of the majestic North Cascades. Views abound, it’s romantic yet also provides a cozy place for guests to vacation and explore. Their weekend started off with a horse-drawn wagon ride to a cowboy-style rehearsal dinner amongst the aspen trees. The staff cooked burgers, chicken, and other BBQ. Guests enjoyed lawn games, the kids ran around with lassos, and everyone who had a cowboy hat donned it. It was such a fun and casual way to kick off an amazing weekend!
The next day we started down at a cabin on Patterson Lake with the guys getting prepared for the big day. They chose not to do a first look so there was a lot of anticipation leading up to the ceremony! With good weather, the entire event was outside overlooking the valley below. Their tented reception was colorful, with bright vibrant centerpieces and an apple from nearby orchards sitting atop each guest’s place setting. Live bluegrass played during the dance party, and everyone marveled at the number of stars you could see that evening. Devan and Matt, congratulations and thank you for including us as a part of your amazing day!
