Robin and Emma and I go way back. We actually met Robin back in our Jackson Hole days when we were living the ski bum life. My husband and I were hitchhiking up Teton Pass after backcountry snowboarding and he picked us up! The rest is history. We all ended up back in Washington eventually and have shared many snowboarding and surf adventures ever since.
We were all taking a surf trip to the coast in autumn when they asked me if I could take some engagement photos for them. The light and weather turned out to be absolutely magical! It was extra special to take some engagement photos for some good friends!

Tips for your Coastal Engagement Session
– Be sure to layer up! It gets chilly on the coast. You can always plan for it to be about 10 degrees cooler than the inland temperatures.
– Plan an activity. Hiking, surfing, picnicking, or having a small beach fire are all great activities to consider for your engagement session. You’ll be able to make some great memories together! Just be sure to check the weather, tides, and waves before heading out on an adventure.
– Always check road and trail conditions before heading to the coast. The Washington coast is remote and is susceptible to large tidal swings, road washouts, and flooding.
– Leave no trace! No matter what you’re doing in the great outdoors, always follow the Leave No Trace principles. Be prepared, and pack out what you bring in.
