Jon and Jen reside in Florida. I actually knew Jen from my baton twirling years. We used to compete against each other at national competitions! She was always incredibly talented – let’s be honest she won pretty much every time! This insane talent actually landed her a role in the show Volta by Cirque du Soleil.

The show just so happened to be heading to Seattle and she reached out to me asking if I’d be interested in doing a couple’s session for her and her husband. The pair had never been to the Pacific Northwest, but heard about our incredible mountains and wanted to remember their time together here. Needless to say, their jaws dropped as we rounded the corner into Mt Rainier National Park. There stood our beloved volcano on a sunny fall morning, in all her glaciated glory.

It was a very cold morning on the day of their session, with ice on the lake and frost lining the trail. We didn’t let it stop us from getting some amazing shots though. Jon and Jen, thanks for sharing one of your mornings with me on your trip to Washington. It was a day to remember and these types of sessions keep me feeling so alive and creative!
